Freeport — Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

Freeport is an open protocol and open-source software. Anyone can run their own relay, notification server, or bridge. This policy applies to the public instance we operate: the web app at freeport.trinh.uk, the notification/MCP server at nostr-mcp.trinh.uk (including its Telegram bridge and bot), and any Nostr relay we host. It does not — and cannot — govern the wider Nostr network or instances run by others.

Not allowed on our infrastructure

What we do about it

Listings on Freeport are public. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted — we cannot read them, and never will be able to. When a specific violation on our infrastructure is reported to us in good faith, we can and will:

Because Nostr is decentralized, removal from our infrastructure does not erase content from the wider network — other relays are operated by other people, under their own policies.

Self-hosted instances

Freeport's code is MIT-licensed and designed to be self-hosted. Operators of their own relays, notifiers, or bridges are responsible for their own instances and applicable laws. This policy binds only the public instance listed above.

Freeport takes no fees, holds no funds, and processes no payments. Trades are agreements between the two people making them; users are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to them.
